Shops were Demolished at Ijokodo, Ibadan by State Goverment

At the early hours of today shops at the ijokodo market were demolished by the Oyo state government, the land was said to belong to the government (acquicition) and the traders/shop owners was given a notice before the demolition took place.

NaijaChoice reporters were able to talk to few traders and shop owners at market

TRADER 1: We went to Agidigbo FM yesterday and were given a seven days grace to move our belongings out, it was a shock to me when my apprectise called to inform me about the demolition this morning.

TRADER 2: it’s true the land belong to the government, and we were informed of the demolition before today, but nobody was expecting it today

TRADER 3: they should have given us more time, where do i start from, am a single mother i lost my husband few years ago, i earn from this market

TRADER 4: as what i heard, the goverment demolished these shops on a purpose some said it is to build a complex, while some said it for a hotel that the land is been sold to a rich politician
