Piers Morgan Labels Arteta’s Ban as ‘Not Fit for Purpose’

British broadcaster Piers Morgan has reacted to the automatic one-match suspension that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will serve.

Arteta was shown his third yellow card of the season for celebrating their late winner against Luton Town on Tuesday night.

This means he will not be on the touchline when the Gunners travel to Aston Villa this weekend.

Morgan, an Arsenal fan himself, posted a video of Gabriel Magalhaes being pulled in the area and slammed the match officials and FA.

He tweeted: “So, Arsenal had this blatant penalty denied, but the same match officials later caught Mikel Arteta celebrating a last-second goal so booked him and he will now be banned from the Villa game.

“These idiots are not fit for purpose.”

Arteta’s men opened a five-point gap at the top of the table following the victory.
