Police arrest 13 suspected kidnappers, kill 4 in Kaduna

The suspects would be charged to court once investigation is complete.

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 13 suspected kidnappers and killed four in the last one month.

This was disclosed by the command’s Acting Public Relations Officer, ASP Nasir Hassan at a news conference in Kaduna on Thursday.

According to him, the suspects were arrested based on intelligence reports, while four were killed on different occasions during gunfire battles with criminals.

He added that the command has arrested no fewer than 10 suspected members of a street gang known as Sara-Suka.

Hassan stated that the command recovered two AK47 rifles, 15 live cartridges, two motorcycles, and three locally fabricated revolvers during the period under review.

Three mobile phones and three bags of dried leaves (suspected to be hemp), were also recovered from the suspects.
The police PRO also added that the suspects would be charged to court once investigations are completed.

Hassan concluded by urging citizens to always report any suspicious movements to the nearest security station for proactive measures.
