Abia State Police Command has confirmed the fatal accident that happened near Umuika junction, along the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway on Sunday.
The accident, which involved a Toyota Sienna Bus belonging to Abia Line Network Transport LTD and a truck, reportedly claimed eleven lives, including two infants.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Abia State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka while responding to a message from DAILY POST, confirmed that the report of the incident has been received by her office.
She said that investigation was ongoing on the accident, even though she did not provide further details about the actual number of the victims or their identities.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims have been taken to a mortuary.
