Portable Describes Arrest in new music named ‘Spider Man’ Shortly After Regaining Freedom

Portable, the Nigerian singer, has teased his upcoming song titled ‘Spider Man’ — where he detailed his recent arrest.

Portable was arrested by the Lagos state police command on Tuesday for allegedly failing to pay the debt he incurred after purchasing his G-Wagon from a car dealer.

The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker was said to have bought the vehicle worth N27 million but paid only N13 million.

Portable allegedly refused to pay the remaining N14 million and whenever the car dealer requested his money, he always claimed the vehicle was having issues.

The singer also jumped over a gate while attempting to evade arrest.

However, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police spokesperson, told TheCable Lifestyle that the singer was granted bail on Wednesday evening.

Hours after regaining freedom, the singer teased the soon-to-be released single.

In ‘Spider Man’, Portable croons about his encounter with the law enforcement officials.

He also compares himself to Spider Man, stating that he has the power to overcome any obstacle.

“Why dem dey beef my glory/ Dem dey watch me like a movie/ Spider Man I can fly/ God is over everything/ Bobo no go die young unless toba darúgbó,” he sings.

Earlier, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Abuja-based legal practitioner, tackled the police over the arrest and detention of singer.

He faulted the method of debt recovery employed by the police, describing it as a “blatant disregard to the country’s laws”.

Born Habeeb Okikiola, Portable gained fame in December 2021 with the release of ‘Zazoo Zeh’, his hit single featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.
