Ronaldo to Real Madrid rumours squashed by Ancelotti

The Portuguese international has seen speculations of a return to the Spanish capital mooted.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Juventus as his contract with the Serie A giants enters it’s final year.

Rumours have it that a number of clubs are after the forward’s signature, including his former club Real Madrid.

But those rumours have been squashed by his former coach Carlo Ancelotti in a post on Twitter.

Ronaldo left Santiago Bernabeu back in 2018 for Italian giants, Juventus. At Madrid, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner enjoyed his most prolific days, leaving as the club’s highest goal scorer.

During his time at the club, he worked with Carlo Ancelotti and had his most productive season in front of goal. In the 2014-15 season, Ronaldo scored a remarkable total of 61 goals under him.

His former coach is, however aware of the rumours of a possible Ronaldo move back to the Spanish capital but he has rubbished those claims.

“Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend and he has all my love and respect. I have never considered signing him. We look forward. #Go Madrid,” he wrote on Twitter.

At 36, Ronaldo is unlikely to be offered a long term move with Juventus if his contract expires.

He hasn’t done bad though with 101 goals recorded in 133 appearances but has failed to deliver Champions League glory.

If a move away from Turin doesn’t materialise, Ronaldo would have to turn his attention to the new season’s opener against Udinese on Sunday.
