Ronaldo wins Manchester United’s Player of the Year award

The Portuguese star has now won the award for the fourth time as a United player.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Year for the fourth time in his career.

The superstar forward has enjoyed a productive second spell with United since he rejoined from Juventus during the summer.

Although the Red Devils have had a disappointing season, Ronaldo ensured that he gave his best in front of goal with 24 goals in all competitions.

18 of those goals, however, came in the Premier League as he finish third in the goal-scoring charts of the competition.

As a reward for his exploits, Ronaldo has now been named the recipient of the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, which is voted for by the club’s supporters across the world.

Ronaldo raked up 60% of the votes with David De Gea coming second in the votes with 29%, while Fred finished third with 2% of the votes.

David De Gea, however edged Ronaldo in the voting for the club’s Players’ Player of the year award, which is voted for by the players of the club.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has also been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Vigil Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Harry Kane.
