As Igbo leaders meet in Enugu tomorrow, Tuesday, the youth wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has told them to have the issue Nigeria President of Igbo extraction as a priority.
The National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike said this in a statement he made available to DAILY POST.
The Igbo leaders are expected to meet in Enugu where they would discuss the worsening security situation in the zone, among other things.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Okwu said the major take out from the meeting should be the setting up of a committee that would champion the much-talked about Igbo presidency.
He noted that, “we have gone pass the era of so much talk but no motion. This is a time for Ndigbo to really come out of their shell if indeed they are keen about occupying the number one seat in the country.
“We say this because power is not given, it is taken, and this is the time for our people to go all out and take the power.
“The meeting of Igbo leaders should not end without putting in place a committee that would midwife the process, ensure that there is unity of purpose, coordination of ideas and consensus.”
“We must have to shame all enemies of Ndigbo who believe that we can never be one. Let everyone rise to the occasion, because indeed this is our chance,” he added.
