The Super Eagles have fallen two positions in the latest FIFA world ranking.
FIFA’s latest ranking, published on their website on Thursday, shows that Nigeria has dropped from the 40th to the 42nd position.
This fall reflects the team’s disappointing results in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Jose Peseiro’s men played out 1-1 draws with the Likuena of Lesotho and the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles are third in their group, behind Rwanda and South Africa.
Jose Peseiro’s side, however, maintained sixth place in Africa.
Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt are the top five teams in Africa.
