“The king stays”- Mohammed Salah extends his contract with Liverpool

The Egyptian becomes the best-paid player in the club’s history.

Mohammed Salah has signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool, extending his stay with the Merseyside Reds until 2025.

In what has been a long contract talk, Salah finally agrees to extend his contract with Liverpool which was due to expire after the upcoming season.

According to reports, the contract talks took too long because Salah was demanding more wages else he would be open to a move away from the club.

The Egyptian King, as he is widely regarded, will now earn a sum of £350,000 per week, making him the best-paid player in the club’s history.

Salah has been nothing short of prolific since joining the Reds back in 2017. A total of 156 goals in 254 appearances sees him sit ninth in the club’s all-time scoring chart.

After agreeing to extend his stay, the prolific winger told the club’s official website how excited he was to stay.

“I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club,” he said. “It’s a happy day for everyone.

“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.

“I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”

Salah would be hoping to add to his prolific profile at the club once the new season starts on August 7.
