For Muslims all over the world, Ramadan is a significant month. It is a time for spiritual renewal, reflection, and fasting. You can engage in the following activities during Ramadan:
- Fast: Muslims observe fasting during Ramadan, which is one of the five pillars of Islam. From dawn until dusk, you must forgo all food, liquids, and other necessities for your body.
- Say Taraweeh prayers: During Ramadan, Taraweeh prayers are unique prayers said in a group after the Isha prayer. At least 8 rakats of Taraweeh should be prayed.
- Read the Quran: Ramadan is an excellent time to increase your Quran reading and comprehension. Throughout Ramadan, make an effort to read some of the Quran each day.
- Donate to charity: The month of Ramadan is a time for sharing and giving. Zakat can be given to those in need or donated to charities.
- Attend Islamic lectures: Throughout Ramadan, many mosques and Islamic institutions offer lectures and classes. Attend these to learn more about and comprehend Islam.
- Make dua because Ramadan is a time of increased spirituality and piety towards Allah. Spend some time praying (dua) and asking Allah for his forgiveness and blessings.
- Spend time with family: Ramadan is an excellent opportunity to see family and friends. To spend time with them, organise special meals and activities.
- Show kindness to others: Ramadan is a time to demonstrate generosity and kindness. Every day during Ramadan, show kindness to someone.
- Avoid engaging in sinful behaviour: Make the most of Ramadan to kick bad habits and stay away from sin.
- Examine your spiritual journey: During Ramadan, give yourself some time to consider your spiritual path and make plans for development.
