Eight new Special Advisers have been appointed by President Bola Tinubu, who has also launched the National Economic Council, or NEC, which is led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
A week after giving NEC the go-ahead to develop interventions to lessen the effects of the petroleum subsidy, NEC was officially inaugurated.
As he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to keeping its promises to Nigerians, Tinubu tasked the council with helping his administration transform the nation’s economic fortunes.
Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information at State House, announced the appointment of new aides in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. He stated that the appointments are effective right away.
According to the statement, Mr. Yau Darazo is the Special Adviser, Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Mr. Dele Alake is the Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communications and Strategy.
The Special Adviser for Monetary Policies is Mr. Wale Edun, and the Special Adviser for Energy is Mrs. Olu Verheijen.
According to Oladunjoye, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu has been appointed Special Adviser, Security, and Mr. Zachaeus Adedeji has been named Special Adviser, Revenue.
He added that Dr. Salma Anas is the Special Adviser for Health, and Mr. John Uwajumogu is the Special Adviser for Industry, Trade, and Investment.
Since taking office on May 29, Tinubu has appointed two more assistants.
The first involved Sen. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff, and Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff.
Other individuals appointed include Mr. Zachaeus Adedeji, Special Adviser, Revenue, and Mr. John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu, Special Adviser, Industry, Trade, and Investment. Mrs. Olu Verheijen is the Special Adviser for Energy. additionally, Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas, Special Advisor, of Health
