Transfer expert and journalist, Dean Jones, has revealed that Chelsea will go for Brentford’s Ivan Toney should they fail to land Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
The Blues are keen to sign Osimhen from Napoli this summer.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones suggested that Toney, who is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, could emerge as an alternative for Enzo Maresca’s side.
“Moving to Saudi Arabia would benefit Toney financially but I am not sure where it leaves him in terms of pursuing an England career,” Jones said.
“I think a big Premier League club and a chance to prove himself at the top would be even more tempting.
“Obviously there aren’t many landing spots for him anymore – Arsenal and Spurs both ruled out and I don’t see United coming in for him anymore.
“So, the main club he could go to would be Chelsea if they fail to land [Victor ] Osimhen, they really have tracked him across this year.”
