Transfer News: Erling Haaland set to join Manchester City on a five-year deal

The sought after striker is close to joining the English champions ahead of next season.

Norwegian international, Erling Haaland is ‘very close’ to joining Premier League leaders, Manchester City after agreeing on terms with the club.

If paperwork is completed before the end of the week, the Etihad outfit could announce Haaland as their new signing.

SAveral top European clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were all linked with the forward but he will now move to City- a club his father Alfie played for in the early 2000s.

According to Goal, Manchester City only needs to trigger the €75 million release clause, although personal terms with City have been agreed upon.

Reports claim that Haaland will sign a five-year contract which would make him one of the top earners at the club.

It was also reported that he missed training on Monday for a fitness test ahead of a move to the English club.

What will he add to City?

Haaland will be a great addition to City, who have been yearning for a striker since Sergio Aguero departed last season. Their pursuit of Harry Kane last summer was a futile one.

Last campaign, Haaland scored 41 goals in 41 appearances for Dortmund and he has scored 28 in 29 appearances this season.
