We will have another strike if FG does not meet our demands- ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened to go on another indefinite strike.

According to the Nation, ASUU reported that the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris has failed to pay salaries and remittance of more than 100 staff for 13 months.

The chairman of ASUU, Lazarus Maigoro, disclosed this in a press statement made available to journalists in Jos, in Plateau state.

ASUU said;

“Despite the directive given by Mr President to pay the salaries of lecturers, the AGF has refused to pay their salaries ranging from four to thirteen months.

“More worrisome is the fact that while AGF has refused to pay these salaries, his staff in the OAGF are busy calling the affected lecturers and insisting they have to register with the IPPIS before they are paid; some are even asked to forfeit a part of their salaries in order to be paid. So it is very clear that this is a deliberate act on the part if the AGF and his staff.”
