We won’t allow Imo to become a killing field – APC

The leading party in Nigeria, APC (All Progressives Congress) has condemned the recent killings in Imo state. The party has said that it will not fold it’s hands and watch Imo state turn into a killing field.

During the recent attacks in Imo state, the country residence of State Governor, Hope Uzodinma was set ablaze.

The incessant killing in different communities has brought about fear in the state, as individuals and families run helter skelter for their lives.

On Monday, April 26, John Akpanudoedehe, the national secretary of the caretaker/ extraordinary convention planning, said in a tweet that the APC is shocked over the recent killings in Imo state.

The Statement Read;

“The All Progressives Congress(APC) has closely monitored the dangerous developments in Imo state which culminated in Saturday’s brazen and gruesome attack on the residence of the State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma.

“The party and indeed our security services will definitely not watch helplessly as some persons and interest attempt to turn Imo state into a killing field. We call on the good people of Imo state to go about their legal activities without fear and resist these enemies of the state.”

In the statement, written by Akpanudoedehe on behalf of APC, sent a message of solidarity to the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), commending them for their efforts to tackle the current situation in Imo state.

The party also sent condolences to the families who lost their lost loved ones in the recent in Imo state.
