200L AKSU student set ablaze by community resident amid a verbal altercation

The unfortunate incident occurred during a fierce altercation between the two.

Students of the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) were in dismay when a 200L student of the University was set ablaze by an indigene of the state during a verbal altercation.

The student, who is identified as Enwongo Akpan is a student in the Department of Philosophy in the school.

According to reports gathered, the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, 10th of July when the student got into an argument with the indigene who sells fuel in the area.

As the argument got intense, the indigene, whose name was withheld, showered him with fuel before setting him ablaze, causing Akpan to sustain multiple injuries.

Akpan was admitted to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, but was later transfer to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for proper treatment.

Fortunately for him, he is responding to treatments, while the school authorities and Police are understood to have swung into immediate action.
