His song “ye” has been certified Gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“Ye” is a song off his OUTSIDE album and the song becomes the fastest Nigerian song to be certified Gold by the RIAA.
According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the song joins a growing list of Nigerian songs to be certified Gold in the US. “If” and “fall” by Davido as well as “come closer” by Wizkid featuring Drake have all previously achieved this feat.
A song or album is certified Gold by the RIAA when it has sold up to 500,000 units (records, tapes or compact discs) in the US.
His mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, took to her Instagram page to disclose the achievement.
