Tik Tok is currently the coolest app for teens and young adults. One factor that makes it such a cool place is the various challenges people engage in. Though some of these challenges are fun and cool, some of them are utterly unnecessary, hazardous and plain stupid.
The viral “Slap A Teacher” is one of those hazardous challenges. Hoping on this challenge might be costing Larrianna Jackson a decade of her life. The 18-year-old High School student engaged in the challenge and assaulted a disabled teacher. Consequently, she is being charged with a second-degree felony battery for her assault.
Actions and Consequences
Larrianna Jackson was apprehended by the Covington Police Department on October 6 following a call reporting the assault of a teacher at a neighbouring High School. The assaulted teacher was a 64-year-old disabled woman. Jackson is said to have physically assaulted the teacher to hop on the Tik Tok “Slap A Teacher” challenge. The attacked teacher had to be checked into a hospital for medical care due to the injuries sustained.
Jackson is not the only student participating in this absurd challenge. Several teachers in the USA have either been hit or slapped. Teachers are currently on the lookout and parents have been warned to monitor their kids’ social media activities and keep them in check.
The ridiculous “Slap A Teacher” challenge on Tik Tok urged students to slap their teachers and post a record of it on the app. Well, actions have consequences and some of the reported students might face expulsion or worse. Larrianna Jackson is one of those facing heavy repercussions for her actions.
The Attorney of St. Tammany Parish District, Warren Montgomery, confirmed that Miss Jackson has been charged and will be arraigned at the 22nd Judicial District Court on 8th December 2021.
