It was a night full of excitement at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre in Lagos where film and TV stars all across Africa graced the fifth edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Award.
The AMVCA is an award to honour actors, actresses and TV personalities who have performed well in the entertainment industry for the year as voted by the viewers. Perhaps, some call it the Oscars of the African entertainment industry.
On a night that made history, online skit maker Emmanuel Ejekwu a.k.a Sabinus became the first-ever recipient of the Best Online Social Content Creator, a newly created award category.
Actress Funke Akindele was awarded the Best Actress Award in a comedy or TV series, while actor Ramsey Noah won the award for the Best Director.
It was also a night to remember for Mavin’s act Rema, who had the chance of performing on stage with legendary musician Lagbaja. They both thrilled the audience with their songs on the night.
