The Scottish full-back has hailed his fellow team-mate following his “unbelievable” goal that secured three crucial points for the reds.

Andrew Robertson has described Allison Becker’s last minute winner against West brom as unbelievable. According to him, any striker in the world will be happy with that header.

Liverpool headed into the game knowing that a win would see them remain in the race for champions league spots but things didn’t began as they would have wanted. Hal Robson-Kanu scored in the 15th minute before Mohammed Salah restored parity in the 33rd minute. The reds looked like they were heading for a draw, but Allison would ensure that they got all three points.

The Brazilian goalkeeper ran the length of the pitch for a late corner from Trent Alexander-Arnold. When the cross came in, Allison rose highest to direct a thumping header past his opposite number.

Robertson could not believe Allison’s header after initially been concerned that they could be hit on the counter when he came up.

“I’ve given up now trying to describe it,” Robertson told the club’s official website. “This team, I’ve said it time and time again – of course it was maybe when we were going for titles and things like that – but we just don’t know when to give up.

“We keep fighting, we keep going, we keep probing. We had some really good chances [in the] last 10 minutes and we just couldn’t find the chance.

“Then you get a corner and I see Ali sprinting by me and I’m thinking, ‘I’m not sure about this.’ I go back to the halfway line and any striker in the world I think is happy with that header – it’s unbelievable.”

The goal meant a lot to the team and it was unsurprising when it sparked wild celebrations among the Reds squad and coaching staff. Allison himself dedicated the goal to his late father who passed away after an accident in Brazil earlier this year.

Liverpool are now one point behind fourth placed Chelsea in the race for champions league qualification.

Jurgen Klopp’s men would have a chance to move into fourth place if Chelsea drop points when they face Leicester City on Tuesday, provided they win against Burnley the following day.
