Barcelona have reached their final decision on the future of manager Xavi after their Champions League round of 16 qualification

The future of the club legend and former midfielder has been in the dark following Barcelona’s seemingly poor run of form.

The Catalan giants are sitting fourth in the league table, 4 points behind league leaders Real Madrid and Girona.

However, they managed to beat FC Porto 2-1 on Tuesday night to book their place in the round of sixteen of the Champions League.

Speaking on the manager’s future after the game, Barça’s director, Deco, said, “We decided to extend Xavi’s contract because we do trust him. No doubts.

“There is no discussion about him. But we are used to these things; there are always rumours around Barça when we don’t play well”.
