BREAKING- DSS Arrest Kano-based Musician Over Blasphemous Song.

A Kano-based musician, Ahmad Abdul has been arrested by the Department of State Security (DSS) over accusations of using blasphemy in his latest song.

However, the accused musician was released on bail on 18th June, 2021.

PremiumTimes reports that the musician was reported to the DSS by the executive secretary of the State Censorship Board, Ismaila Afkallah.

According to the agency, Abdul was taken into custody to avoid likely violent reactions against from Kano residents.

It is alleged that Abdul’s song, almost led to chaos and violence, following the reactions from his fans.

However, Abdul apologized to the people of Kano and the state, saying that he never knew that his song would cause such uproar and violence in the state.

He Said;

“I never knew the song was against Islamic teachings and would cause uproar. I wouldn’t have done it. But I have now understood the implication and I accept my mistakes.

“I tender my heartfelt apology to Kano-Ullamas, the government and the State Censorship Board.”
