The adjournment was arrived at to provide the tribunal with more time to review the evidences and arguments before a final conclusion made.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned its sitting to Wednesday, May 10, 2023, concerning the petition raised by rival parties over the outcome of the 2023 Presidential elections.

On Monday, May 8, 2023, the tribunal commenced proceedings in Abuja where Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) have challenged the outcome of the 2023 Presidential Elections, which saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) declared as the winner.

The announcement to adjourned the case was made via a tweet on Monday by one of the spokespersons for the LP, Kenneth Okonkwo.

According to him, the case was adjourned to Wednesday by 2pm prompt after a brief pre-hearing on Monday.
