The singer wins the Best International Act category of the BET award category for the third time in a row.
Nigerian afrobeat singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has won the Best International Act at the BET awards held on June 27, 2021 at Los Angeles.
That win means that Burna Boy has now won the plaque for the third consecutive time, beating fellow Nigerian Wizkid and other musicians to the award.
Burna Boy first won the award in 2019 courtesy of his third studio album “Outside”. With hit singles like “Ye” and “Gbona” Burna Boy topped charts and subsequently won the award.
His following album, “African Giant” didn’t disappoint either. That was his fourth studio album which was nominated first for a Grammy and went on to win another BET accolade.
Later in 2020, the 29-year old released his international accepted “Twice as Tall” album, which won him a Grammy and has now won him his third BET award in three years.
