Corps Member Empowers Cleaners With Money (Video)

In an NYSC camp in Nasarawa state, a corps member empowered each cleaner with the sum of ten thousand naira (#10,000).

In all fairness, the role played by cleaners is grossly underrated. Imagine if hundreds of persons use a banking hall daily without it ever being cleaned? Banks would stink so badly that people will revert to saving at home.

I still recollect how repulsive my school’s hostel became when the cleaners went on strike. A place we used to dwell in comfortably became so polluted that we dreaded it.

The unkept sight of the hostel declares openly that germs inhabit in it. Our attempts to rise to the occasion did not yield satisfactory results. We rejoiced when the strike was called off.

Accordingly, empowering and appreciating these individuals that keep our environment clean, is the type of mindset that should be emulated. This corps member has done well.

Cleaners earn little money, but it is thanks to them that we can conveniently use public places.

Finally, society will be better, if like this young man we appreciate those around us. Everyone is important.
