It seems Hilda Baci’s earlier attempt has inspired many chefs across the world.

Once again, the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Marathon has been broken by an Ugandan Chef identified as Mama D.

Mama D broke the record on Thursday, 28 December 2023, cooking for more than 119 hours, 57 minutes – a record set by Irish chef, Alan Fisher in November.

Ever since Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s ferocious attempt to break the record for the longest cooking hours, many chefs across the world have been suddenly inspired to achieve the feat too.

After Baci broke the record in May with an astonishing feat of 93 hours, 11 minutes, Alan Fisher then set a new record of 119 hours, 57 minutes in November.

However, his achievement seems to be short-lived in the record books.

Even though Mama D has broken Fisher’s record, her status as the Longest Cooking Marathon record holder is yet to be official, as she is not yet certified by the Guinness World Record.

Reports suggests that Mama D plans to cook till the new year. If she does, she would have cooked non-stop for an incredible 9 days!
