The actress also noted that a separate category should have been created for crossgenders like Bobrisky.

Popular Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has reacted angrily to Bobrisky winning the award for ‘Best Dressed Female’ at the movie premiere of ‘Beast of Two Worlds’.

Amusa took to her official Instagram page to express her displeasure at the organizers of the event.

“Naturally, I don’t do this but I felt the need to do this,” she said. “I am not happy because I went to a colleague’s premiere yesterday and then they said that the best dressed was to be picked. One female best dresser and one male best dresser. Don’t get me wrong it could be anyone yes but definitely not a cross-dresser,” she began.

Bobrisky won the award for putting on a long sequinned black gown, with a vivid black lipstick to match the outfit, and a staff wrapped in black ribbon, while ex Big Brother Naija housemate, Groovy won the male category. They were both awarded N1 million naira each.

This has led to backlash on social media, with Amusa flabbergasted at the choice of the organisers, accusing them of disrespecting the biological women at the event.

“What is wrong with us? When did we become this? I don’t understand how the judges disrespected every woman who made an effort to be at that event. Even if it’s 5 kobo an individual used to put their looks together, why is it that when it was time to pick the best-dressed female, you watered down the efforts of all the individuals at that event by giving it to a cross-dresser? What is wrong with us? I don’t understand it,” she continued.

Beaming with outrage, Amusa stated that she walked out of the event after Bobrisky was awarded.

“If you feel like the crossdresser has merited an award, create a category for them and give them their own. Not that you would disrespect every man and woman who came to that event by giving the best-dressed female to a crossdresser. Are the judges okay?? I had to walk out of that event,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Bobrisky has reacted to her post saying, “I love you regardless.”
