There was no news, however, of injured passengers.

A rampage elephant sent shivers down the spine of some tourists in Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa as it attacked and lifted a car filled with tourists using its tusks.

In the videos of the incident, which has since gone viral on the internet, the passengers could be heard praying while the terrified driver was begging the elephant for mercy.

One of the videos shows a driver driving towards an elephant, which, after momentarily standing still, charged at the vehicle.

Aware of the danger the passengers might be in, the driver tried to reverse, while also tapping the side of the vehicle with his hand, yelling, “Hey! Hamba! (go away).” Unyielding to the pleas, the elephant struck its tusks into the front of the vehicle and lifted it.

At this point, the driver began to beg the wild animal for mercy as he shouted “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” while some terrified passengers can be seen huddled on the floor.

No information was passed, however, about injured passengers.
