Kim Kardashian is Officially No Longer a West

Billionaire  Reality TV star, and business mogul,  Kim Kardashian, has been legally declared single. This new status comes after one year of filing for divorce from rapper, and business tycoon, Kanye West. 

The once iconic duo moved from being a power couple to a power struggle. Seriously, the most talked-about divorce on social media in the last century has to be that of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West. 

Presently, Kim Kardashian is officially single and no longer bears West in her name.

The Journey to Become Single

In December, when she filed a petition to be declared legally single, the Kardashian appealed that issues of property and the custody of their children should be separated from her marital status.

However, her appeal was challenged by her ex-husband in February. In his petition, he claimed that such a declaration is likely to have negative effects, particularly, towards the custody of their four adorable children, and properties.

Nevertheless, Kim in response to his appeal stated that granting her a divorce is her utmost desire considering how Kanye West was publicizing their divorce proceedings. Also, she accused the rapper of spreading false information about their family issues.

In her words;

“I ask that the Court restore me to the status of a single person so that I can begin the healing process and so that our family can begin the healing process and move forward in this new chapter in our lives.” 

Fortunately for Kim Kardashian, Page Six reports that a judge in Los Angeles has declared her single. On Wednesday, during a hearing, Judge Steven Cochran declared Kim Kardashian West single. Therefore, the Kardashian no longer bears West as her last name.

In recent times, Kanye West has been wild on social media. The rapper keeps trolling Kim Kardashian’s alleged new boo, Pete Davidson.

Recently, Pete Davidson deactivated his Instagram and Kanye West’s online trolls appear to be the reason. Ironically, the rapper himself has been spotted with several new dates.  He was involved with Julia Fox for two months. Recently he has been spotted with Chenay Jones.

Well, before now Kanye West also dropped his surname. The mogul changed his name to just Ye.
