Luka Modric reveals Real Madrid’s approach for the second leg against Manchester City in UCL

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has shared insights into how his team plans to approach the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday.

Modric played a part in Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals on Tuesday night.

The match saw goals from Vinicius and Kevin De Bruyne, resulting in a stalemate at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Speaking to UEFA after the game, Modric expressed that Carlo Ancelotti’s team would carry the same confidence and optimism into the second leg, believing they can secure a victory against Manchester City on English soil.

“We deserved a better result than what we achieved tonight. However, we will approach the second leg with the same confidence and optimism, believing that we can emerge victorious over there,” Modric stated.

He emphasized that neither team gained a significant advantage from the first leg, deeming the tie to be open and evenly balanced, with both teams having an equal chance. Modric concluded by stating that they were well aware that the outcome would not be determined in the first leg.
