The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has declared that mathematics isn’t a compulsory subject for students who want to study humanities in colleges of education.

Jamb Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede made this declaration on Tuesday, February 24th in Abuja.

Also, the president of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COASU), Comrade Nuhu Ogirima argued that anyone who wants to undergo any course under Humanities dies nor require Mathematics for admission since he/she would have already been taught the basics of mathematics at the primary and secondary education levels.
