NDLEA arrests two undergraduates for sales of drug-laced cookies

The National Drug Law Enforcement agency(NDLEA) has arrested two undergraduates for selling cookies laced with drugs in Abuja.

Rhoda Agboje, a 300-level university student was nabbed by the operatives of the agency together with her boyfriend, Ifeanyi Nwankwo. Two of them were arrested for producing drug-laced cookies and selling them to school children and other unsuspecting individuals.

A statement released by the agency’s director for Media and advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi on Tuesday revealed this. However, it appears that the two of them aren’t the only ones involved in the production of the drug-laced cookies.

The statement further revealed that a man-hunt has been launched to apprehend another member of the syndicate involved in the production of the cookies.

Mr. Femi disclosed that the cookies were found to have some amount of Arizona (a highly psychoactive variant of cannabis) with Alcohol and Rohypnol among other ingredients.
Rhoda was arrested with four pieces of the drug cookies on Sunday at the NNPC cooperative estate in Abuja. This happened after a complaint was received that she gave an unsuspecting young girl the cookies to eat.

She (the young girl) immediately lost her mind , could not sleep and was making incoherent utterances due to the effects of the cookies she consumed innocently.

Rhoda confessed, after she was arrested that she prepares the cookies with a friend and they sold it for a fee of 1,500 naira.

Commander of the FCT NDLEA command, Mohammed Malami Sokoto said;
“The suspect confirmed that she sells at parties and to unsuspecting members of the public, including school children that are the most vulnerable. The suspect also supplies some supermarkets and clubs in the FCT.”
