Popular Afropop singer, Omah Lay speaks on how the previous generation of artists paved way for him in the Nigerian music industry.

In a recent interview the ‘Soso’ singer was featured in, he listed out the artists that he believes are key to his breaking forth in the music scene.

He listed out Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Olamide and noted that these artists made it possible for him to be where he is today.

Omah Lay remarked that he doesn’t know what it is that he is doing differently that sets him apart from his peers and every other person, but he knows he’s being himself when making his music.

His words …

“I feel like I wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for the previous generation – Burna, Wiz, Davido and Olamide – they are the reasons why I am here right now and I am doing it like this. Yeah, I can’t say for sure what exactly it is that I am doing differently; I’m just doing me and it is what it is.”
