The governor has sent his condolences to the families of the affected victims.

Executive Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a three-day mourning following the tragic Train accident, which happened on Thursday and has claimed the lives of three state government workers.

Governor Sanwo-Olu has also suspended his re-election campaign due to the incident, while he has also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.

The train crashed into the state government staff bus at Ikeja while the bus was crossing the rail track.

Three people, so far, have been confirmed dead while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Due to the accident, Governor Sanwo-Olu has also ordered heads of services to declare a half day work on Friday and the Lagos State flag be raised at half-mast.

The governor also thanked his political rivals, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour (Labour Party) and Abdul-Azeez Adeniran (People’s Democratic Party) for showing their support.
