Trump Refuses Peaceful Handover. See Why.

Why Would Donald Trump Not Want Peace? It's All In The Article!

President Donald Trump, during a press conference has revealed that he will not commit to a peaceful transfer if, eventually, he loses the November elections.

After Brain Karem, a reporter for Playboy Magazine asked, “Win, lose, or draw in this election, will you commit here today for a peaceful transferral of power after the election?”

A average president would have seen this as an opportunity to push propaganda, and assure citizens, but not Trump. According to him, “We’re gonna have to see what happen. We want to get rid of the ballots […] — there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There’ll be a continuation.”

According to Vox, this is seemingly not the first time he has refused to commit to a peaceful transfer. Reports have it that he said the same thing during an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News, in July.

Why the Fight against Mail-In Ballots?

“The United States cannot have all Mail-In Ballots. It will be the greatest Rigged Election in history”. Trump further explained, “People grab them from mailboxes, print thousands of forgeries and force people to sign. Also, forge names. […] Trying to use Covid for this scam.”

However, studies seem to show that the kind of large-scale election fraud that Trump talks about is incredibly rare.

For example, a Loyola Law School Professor, Justin Levitt, tracked US elections from 2000 to 2014 in search of voter fraud and found only 31 out of more than a billion instances.

Not only that, a five-year study on voter fraud commissioned by George W. Bush found out similar conclusions, stating, “The Justice Department has turned up virtually no evidence of any organized efforts to skew federal elections.”

Overall, Fox News’ Chris Wallace says, “I’ve done some deep dive into it; there really is no record of massive fraud or even serious fraud from mail-in voting.”

So why, then, is Trump so pressed in on a problem that may not exist? Does he know something we don’t?

Vox claims, “Trump has never, ever, not ever admitted he has lost anything.” Even during multiple bankruptcies, ugly business deals and political defeats, he always insisted that he had outsmarted everyone.

“When he lost the Iowa causes to Sen. Ted Cruz [in 2016], he tweeted, ‘Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the poll were so wrong and why he got more votes than he anticipated. Bad!”

Well, now we know that he hates defeat. How does that relate to mail-in voting?

“What he’s doing is simple: Laying the groundwork to never admitting defeat if he winds up losing to former Vice President Joe Biden.”

Well, I guess we’d just have to see, won’t we? Join the discussion in the comments section. Do you think he has a legitimate reason for opposing mail voting, or is he “not capable of admitting he might not always be the best at everything always”?
