UEFA will pay France €14 million for winning this year’s Nations League ahead of Spain.

The top European football governing body will also pay Spain €9million for losing the UEFA Nations League final to France, Bolavip reports.

France defeated Spain 2-1 in the final at San Siro on Sunday evening.

Goals from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe ensured France defeated Spain, as Mikel Oyarzabal’s strike was not enough.

However, in the third/fourth place encounter played at the weekend, Italy defeated Belgium 2-1 to claim the third position.

UEFA will pay Italy €8million for finishing third place, while Belgium will get €7million for finishing fourth place.

Meanwhile, Portugal won the inaugural competition in 2019.

The Nations League 2020-21 is the second season of the tournament.
