Unidentified Gunmen kill SS3 student in Benue State

The deceased is a candidate on the ongoing WAEC examinations.

A Senior Secondary School 3 student, Charity Eze has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Charity was a 17-year-old student of the St. Monica Girls Secondary School, Otukpo and was currently writing the West African Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) examinations.

According to reports gathered, the deceased went outside to pack her clothes, when she met the unfortunate fate.

The incident took place around 10:30 pm when two unidentified gunmen, who scaled the fence, shot her in the forehead.

Her younger sister identified as Rosemary reportedly witnessed the incident and into the house to inform her father of what has happened. Unfortunately, the gunmen had already made themselves scarce.

It was also gathered that the 17-year-old was to finish her examinations on Tuesday, 14th of June, 2022.

A spokesperson for the State Police Command, Sp Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident.

“The death of the student is confirmed. It happened on Friday.” She said.
