WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook messenger suffered a downtime at around 19:00 on Friday, according to the tech monitoring website Downdetector.

The three platforms; owned by Mark Zuckerberg stopped connecting, leaving millions of users in panic.

Following downdetector.com, which tracks service outages, 90% of Whatsapp users could not connect to their application while some Instagram users also said that they were unable to log into the platform.

Many users went straight to Twitter to complain that they saw error alerts when they opened the apps and were unable to send or receive messages.

However, shortly after 45 minutes, several WhatsApp users were able to again send messages on the platform.

Instagram also came back after about an hour.

WhatsApp also confirmed the 45-minute outage in a tweet while also thanking users for their patience.
