Zamfara State government has suspended the feeding of boarding students in the government schools due to paucity of funds.

DAILY POST gathered that the failure of the State government to settle the outstanding debt of the State’s feeding agency led to the development.

Investigation revealed that many students have abandoned their studies.

A Principal of a Government Day Secondary School, who didn’t want his name published, told our correspondent that the majority of the students were no longer attending schools.

He described the action as a serious setback to the educational development of the State.

“It is unfortunate that the majority of our children are not attending schools again because of the suspension of the feeding programme in schools,” he added.
