The Manchester United starlet continues to be investigated.
Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been released on bail by the police pending further investigations.
Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill after his girlfriend Harriet Robson posted disturbing pictures and videos on her Instagram story
On Sunday, he was taken into custody by the police for inquiries. However, the police were granted extra time on Monday to question the striker, hence he was further arrested by the police.
In a statement released by the Greater Manchester Police today, it was disclosed that Greenwood has been released on bail while further investigations are ongoing.
“A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the player still remains suspended from playing or training with Manchester United, while his sponsorship deal with Nike has also been suspended.
Greenwood has also been removed from all versions of the Electronics Art FIFA 22 game.
