Body of the victim awaits further handling and processing after retrieval from the lagoon.
The lifeless body of an unidentified adult has been successfully retrieved from the Lagos Lagoon at the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge area of Lagos State.
Recall that it was earlier reported that the unidentified adult had jumped into the lagoon at around 2:43pm on Tuesday, 8th of August, 2023.
Efforts were made immediately by emergency responders to retrieve the victim from the lagoon.
According to a press release by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the victim is believed to have jumped into the lagoon to take his own life.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu expressed that yhe body has been diligently retrieved from the lagoon, and now awaits further handling and processing.
“The victim’s body, diligently retrieved this morning, has been carefully packaged for the next stages of handling and processing by our adept Response Team,” she said.
