Boko Haram claims responsibility of abduction of Katsina students, states the two reasons why attack was carried out.

On Tuesday, December 16th, Abubakar Shekaur , the leader of the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram, in a video announced that the group is responsible for the kidnapping of over 300 school students from their school located in Kankara local government area of Katsina state.

The video ultimately debunks claims that bandits were responsible for the abduction of the school boys.

In the video released by Boko Haram terrorist group, which was first shared by Ahmed Sakilda’s HumanAngle, Abubakar Shekaur said that the boys were kidnapped to promote Islam and discourage unislamic practices of Western education.

In the video the group said;

“What happened in Katsina state was done to promote Islam and discourage unislamic practices as Western education is not the type of education permitted by Allah and his Holy Prophet.

They are rather destroying Islam. It may be subtle, but Allah the Lord of the skies and earths knows whatever is hidden. May Allah promote Islam. May we die as Muslims.”

Nigeria most dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram has succeeded in carrying out notorious attacks in the country. This group is also responsible for the Kidnap of 276 girls in Chibok located in the northeastern of Borno state of which 100 are still reportedly missing.

Unfortunately Nigeria’s governments efforts to tackle the problem by putting an end to group has been has failed over the years. This puts the country in a dreadful situation, as no one knows when the terrorist group will strike again.

According to The Guardian, there are still doubts looming whether Boko Haram abducted the school boys in Katsina State, as Shekaur’s statement lacks detail, and random demands from bandits who claim to have the boys in their custody has been received by some officials.

Although many Nigerians doubt whether bandits or Boko Haram abducted the school boys, the painful truth still remains that Nigeria faces ‘high rate of national insecurity’.
