Check Out the One Promise President Buhari Fulfilled

In 2015, the idea of change was sold to millions of Nigerians. Juicy promises were made and the bar was set high. In the end, these juicy promises turned out to be empty. Millions of Nigerians were left with broken dreams.

For the past seven years, the concept of change sold in 2015 by the All Progressive Party has been a transition to the worse. A nightmare we experience without shutting our eyes. Nevertheless, there is one promise Buhari kept and fulfilled to the very end.

During his inauguration speech in 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari clearly said; “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.” Back then, this statement was given diverse interpretations. However, the President has over the years kept to his words.

Throughout his administration, Buhari’s loyalty and support have remained on his sleeves. He has rarely extended them to anybody. This is a culture he maintained especially during the contest of who would emerge as the APC presidential candidate.

Everyone was eager to see who President Buhari would support as his successor. However, he never endorsed any of the candidates publicly. Including his Vice President.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo campaigned and contested to be the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Party (APC) and Buhari never publicly endorsed him or any other candidate.

Like a man who belonged to nobody, Buhari stayed detached. He did not throw his weight on the Osinbajo campaign and help him secure the votes of delegates. Eventually, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo suffered a humiliating defeat. Tinubu emerged as the APC presidential candidate.
