Leader of the catholic church, Pope Francis has called for prayers for Nigeria following the recent happenings across the country.

As the EndSARS protests(especially the Lekki shootings) continue to gather international attention, Pope Francis has urged the catholic faithfuls to pray against violence in Nigeria.

“I follow with particular concern the news coming from Nigeria about the recent clashes between law enforcement agencies and some young protesters.” He said

“We pray to the lord that all forms of violence will always be avoided, in the constant search for harmony through the promotion of justice and the common good.”

Pope Francis also extended his prayers for Nigeria via his twitter handle.

“Let us pray to the Lord for Nigeria, so that every form of violence might always be avoided, in the constant search of social harmony through the promotion of justice and the common good.” The tweet read.
