Kanye has been termed crazy by several people online due to his bipolar status and some of his inactions. Such as his feud with Taylor Swift, Twitter rants that were disrespectful to his wife and her family, as well as his political convictions.
His latest achievement as the richest black man in America is applaudable by all standards, especially as he is currently facing separation from his wife Kim Kardashian. However, there is a need to hang our celebration boots for a few minutes and resonate on the enormous wealth gap between the blacks and whites in America.

Jeff Bezos once made 13 billion dollars in a day and Elon Musk made a whooping record-breaking 25 billion dollars in a day. This is not said to downplay Kanye’s achievement but to address the wide gap in wealth existing between the white race and black race in America. Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Bill Gates are all worth hundreds of billions, yet the richest black man in America is worth 6.6 billion dollars.
Years of slavery and discrimination truly kept black people in America below in terms of wealth, especially generational wealth. Thank God for black men and women are today making breakthroughs. The musical genre Hip Hop has been a source of stepping up for a good number of talented black men like Kanye West, Jay Z, Diddy, and lots more. These fellows became famous and didn’t just settle as successful artists, but went ahead to become successful businessmen. Today, one of them is the richest black man in America.
The gap in terms of wealth between people of color and other races in America is enormous. Nevertheless, the future seems promising. Hopefully, more black businesses become valued in billions. Kudos to Kanye West, he has accomplished a milestone. A true source of inspiration.
