Lionel Messi Pulls Out Of Barcelona Contract Talks And Sets Leaving Date

The Argentine starlet has pulled out of contract talks with Barcelona and is now preparing to leave the club when his current deal expires next summer.

The 33-year-old’s camp have been locked in negotiations with Barca’s hierarchy over a new deal for some time, with just a year  remaining on the four-year deal he signed in 2017.

Although, the Spanish Club Giant had been confident of signing up their talisman to a new deal, but Messi has backed away from talks.

The Argentine is concerned by recent events on and off the pitch – with Barca falling four points adrift of Real Madrid in the title race and is fed up with being blamed for the side’s shortcomings.

He wasn’t cool with the team after hearing the speculations which stated that he and the squad initially didn’t want to take a pay cut during the pandemic.

There was a conversation between him and his teammates in the dressing room when he told them he wanted to reconsider his future because he doesn’t want to be a problem to the club.

Latest discoveries stated that the Star man is not ready to sign another but want to leave when his deal expires next summer.

The Argentine still remain committed to the team despite having a option clause that stated that he can leave free in each year if he wanted to but he remain loyal to the team by staying.

Barcelona will like Messi to sign another year contract with the club to make him stay till 2023.

It has previously been suggested that Messi would like to finish his career at his boyhood club.
