The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its Orientation Course will commence again in Borno State, 13 years after it was paused due to the persistent threat of attack by Boko Haram insurgents.
It should be noted that the exercise was suspended, for over a decade, to ensure the safety of Prospective Corps Members (PCMs)
However, the NYSC took to their official Twitter account to communicate a crucial update to the upcoming Batch ‘B’ stream ‘2’ orientation course participants, who have been deployed to Borno State.
The announcement was made to notify PCMs of a change in venue for the orientation exercise.
PCMs deployed to the state are therefore advised to re-access their Call-up letters through the NYSC portal. This is to ensure that information regarding their deployment is accurate and up-to-date.
A noteworthy alteration has also been made to the commencement date of the orientation course. The orientation course, which was stated to begin on the 15th of August, 2023, has now been rescheduled to commence on the 18th of August, 2023.
All PCMs have been advised to take note as they prepare to arrive at their respective states of deployment.
