Following the unexpected disruption of a concert at Rivers State with gunshots in which popular Nigerian musician, Teni was invited to perform, the police force in Rivers State have broken silence concerning the incident being an attempt to kidnap the female musician.
The concert, held on January 2nd at King Amachree Square in Degema, Asari Tori Local government area of Rivers state, was meant to be fun night for lovers of good party and music but was cut short after sporadic gunshots by unknown men forced the whole audience to run for their lives.
After the incident, some claims were brought up that the whole incident was a plot carried out to kidnap Teni.
However, speaking on behalf of the police force, Iringe Grace Koko, the command’s public relations officer told journalists that such claims are untrue.
According to Grace, the sporadic gunshots were as of a result of misunderstanding of miscreants who attended the show.
“The police division there in Buguma has been mandated to fish out those behind the incident. We will ensure they are brought to book.”
