Former Los blancos goalkeeper believes that Eden hazard cannot make the desired impact at Real Madrid even if fully fit.
Mariano Garcia Remon believes the Belgian playmaker is unlikely to rediscover his spark in the 2020-21 season.
Eden hazard joined Spanish giants Real Madrid last summer from Chelsea. He was priced away for a whooping sum of €100 million.
Big things were expected of the Belgian when he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu. Unfortunately, Hazard has failed to live up to expectations as he struggles for consistency and momentum.
The former Stamford bridge favorite was given the Number 7 shirt, but he has been unable to fill the void created by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018. Ronaldo departed for Juventus in 2018 and Hazard was considered the ideal replacement for him, but he has never come close to hitting those heights.
Remon, who helped Madrid to six leagues title during his days does not feel the Belgian would become the player that Madrid considered him to be.
The Real Madrid legend told Radio Marca:
“Hazard is Real Madrid’s big signing and we all expected (good performances) from him.
” He hasn’t got started nor has he had continuity due to injuries and I think that’s affected him. The way he’s started this year, it will be similar to last year”.
Hazard is set to spend another spell on the sidelines after taking a knock in training before the game against Real Valladolid on Wednesday.
